Security Engineer - Application Security

Bird is a last-mile electric vehicle sharing company dedicated to bringing safe, low-cost, environmentally-friendly transportation solutions to communities across the world. We provide a fleet of electric, shared scooters that can be accessed via smartphone. Bird is headquartered in Venice, California and is rapidly expanding across the country and the world.
Responsibilities:
Work directly with engineering teams throughout all development phases to help design and build secure software
Conduct static and dynamic code analysis to hunt for security vulnerabilities in new features before they are launched
Develop and improve tooling to automate and scale code scanning capabilities to identify security issues as early in development as possible
Work with cross-discipline teams to remediate security issues
Qualifications:
BS degree in Computer Science or related STEM field
5+ years experience in relevant role
Expertise in one or more object-oriented design methodology and large-scale application development (e.g. Kotlin, Ruby, Python, Go, Java, C++)
Excellent understanding of critical application security risks and best practices for remediation
Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
Excellent understanding of mobile app development and build automation systems
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience with tools such as Burp Suite and OWASP ZAPExperience as software developer is a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
