Security Engineer- Cloud Infrastructure

Bird is a last-mile electric vehicle sharing company dedicated to bringing safe, low-cost, environmentally-friendlytransportation solutions to communities across the world. We provide a fleet of electric,shared scooters that can be accessed via smartphone. Bird is headquartered in Venice, California and is rapidly expanding across the country and the world. Responsibilities: Work with engineering teams to design and build secure systems and networks Ensure security best practices are applied throughout our platform Develop and implement capabilities to detect intrusions and anomalies Work with developers to ensure that all critical systems and workflows have effective and appropriate security anomaly detection and response Conduct infrastructuresecurity reviews and scans to identify security vulnerabilities before we launch new features Design and implement automated security tests that can help identify issues Investigate and handle security alerts, anomaly reports, and security incidents Configure and maintain systems to detect and preventnetwork intrusions and scan for vulnerabilities Work with huge amounts of data to detect and prevent attacks Qualifications: BS degree in Computer Science or related STEM field 5+ years experience in relevant role Deep understanding of cloud infrastructuresecurity vulnerabilities and attack vectors Deep understanding of AWS networking, VPC's, routing tables, S3, EC2 Experienced with building tooling to collect and analyze data for security anomalies (eg. VPC Flow Logs, CloudTrail, etc) Experienced with at least one scriptinglanguage, ideally Python or Bash Strong understanding of securityarchitecture and security design Experience with WAF systems Big data experience a plus Technology we're working with: AWS, Terraform IAMOssec, Nessus Kotlin, Swift, C++, C, Go Dropwizard Postgresql Flink, Kafka, Redshift, RabbitMQ

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
